FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE Vision mastery and awakening: what carries over
Mastery grows through battle
Fight with a Vision equipped to earn Mastery Points and increase its Mastery Rank. Progression unlocks abilities and bonuses, so compare the next useful unlock before switching to another Vision. In-game help transcription Nintendo Life
Permanent gains stay after you unequip the Vision
An earned permanent stat gain stays on the character after you replace that Vision. You can therefore rotate Visions to work toward different benefits without erasing those permanent gains. Separate an earned permanent bonus from a number that is only part of the current equipment setup. Davidvinc IGN
Keep useful skills within your AP budget
Learned skills can be equipped without keeping the original Vision equipped, but your chosen abilities must fit the available AP limit. After swapping, check which skills you have actually selected; learning several passives does not mean they are all active at once. IGN GamerFuzion
Awakening uses Magicite rather than battle-earned MRP
Awakening unlocks more of a Vision’s skills by spending Magicite. The material family has three sizes: Magicite Shard, Magicite and Magicite Cryst; stronger awakenings require larger pieces. This is separate from earning Mastery Rank through battle. In-game help transcription Awakening guide
The Chapter 1 awakening tutorial occurs when you return to Grandport after Siren’s Tower. The scene supplies a Magicite Shard. If you are still earlier in the chapter, continue the story rather than trying to spend the materials before that tutorial. RPG Site walkthrough Awakening walkthrough
Choose the upgrade that solves your next problem
- Identify the ability or permanent bonus you want.
- Check whether it needs more Mastery Rank or a Magicite awakening.
- For mastery, equip the relevant Vision while fighting.
- For awakening, inspect the enhancement menu and the material requested.
- Review equipped skills and total AP after making the change.
Tablet shards are a separate collectible that you hand in at Oblivion Palace; they do not directly replace Magicite in a Vision upgrade. See the tablet-shard locations when collecting those rewards. This guide does not prescribe an exact-cost farming route or claim that every Vision can be fully awakened from a particular supply.
